Staveley Town Deal introduction
Investing in the future of Staveley: March 2021 to March 2026
The Staveley area, was one of 101 towns across England invited to make a bid for up to £25m in a Town Deal, announced by Government in November 2019. The aim is to deliver regeneration projects with and for the communities of the Staveley area. We were awarded £25.2m in March 2021.
There are several key projects that will be funded through the Staveley Town Deal. Business cases were submitted to the Government and funding was confirmed at the end of March 2022. Work will now begin to plan the delivery of these projects - ensuring they can be completed by March 2026.
The Town Deal is overseen by the Staveley Town Board, which was responsible for producing and submitting a Town Investment Plan (TIP) and retains strategic oversight throughout the programme. You can read this document below. This document includes details about each of the projects planned in the programme and how they aim to benefit residents in Staveley.

There are many exciting plans for the Staveley area which include the development of new homes, the Chesterfield and Staveley Regeneration Route, Staveley Corridor and bringing forward of employment sites to bring higher level skilled jobs to the area. The Town Deal funding will make a huge and positive impact for Staveley, and we aim to join up with the other planned investments over coming years.
The below map shows the location of projects being funded through the Staveley Town Deal.
The Staveley Town Deal is part of the Towns Fund, a government initiative to invest £3.6 billion pounds into over 100 towns.
A Towns Fund prospectus and guidance was released in September 2019.
Further guidance was released in June 2020.
