We produce information about our services through leaflets, guidance and news releases, which appear on this website, our social media pages, our newsletters and in the local press.
The classes of information will not generally include:
- information the disclosure of which is prevented by law, or exempt under the Freedom of Information Act, or is otherwise properly considered to be protected from disclosure
- information in draft form
- information that is no longer readily available as it is contained in files that have been placed in archive storage, or is difficult to access for similar reasons
Building control
The local authority building control function is carried out by the Derbyshire Building Control Partnership. They ensure compliance with Building Regulations in Chesterfield, and neighbouring authorities and can advise on dangerous structures.
Council Tax

Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support

Local Land Charges
The Local Land Charges Act 1975 and the Local Land Charges Rules 1977 gives any person the right to search the Local Land Charges Register upon payment of the prescribed fee. Find out more about Local Land Charges.

The council produces a resident newsletter called Your Chesterfield three times a year and produces the Our Homes newsletter for council tenants three times a year.

Waste Collection and Recycling
We are responsible for emptying bins in Chesterfield for approximately 48,000 households, and aim to recycle as much waste as possible.
