This policy outlines how Chesterfield Borough Council protects the personal data it holds, and meets the requirements of the UK General Data Protection regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

It is council policy that all employees are responsibility for managing information in accordance with this Data Protection Policy.

This policy also contains the council’s code of practice for handling data received from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
