Safeguards are in place to ensure that this data is kept secure and the privacy of individuals is protected.
Who is responsible for your information?
Chesterfield Borough Council is the data controller for the personal information collected.
Purposes of processing your personal data
We take photos for publicity and promotion purposes. These photos may be used in reports and council publications, on our website, in press releases or otherwise passed to the media in order to publicise Chesterfield and the services the council provides.
Categories of personal data and lawful basis
We may need to process some or all of the following categories of personal information:

Under data protection legislation, we are permitted to use your information this way because we have the consent of the data subject.
We will always endeavour to get your consent to use a photo you feature in, but this may not always be possible with wide shots of crowds etc.
You can withdraw your consent or object to the processing of a photo in which you feature by using the contact details below. This will prevent further use, but it may be impossible to restrict use of images already used in promotional literature, or shared with the press.
Who we share your personal data with
We may share a photo of you with the press, or publish it on our website.
Select photos will be archived to form part of the public record of Chesterfield. These images may ultimately be passed to the Derbyshire Record Office for preservation.
