About Chesterfield Careline

Chesterfield Careline is delivered by Chesterfield Borough Council, and our friendly team of fully-trained emergency operators are based locally in central Chesterfield.

We’re a registered local authority provider - delivering this service to help improve the lives of local people.

This means that Chesterfield Careline is not run for profit - your wellbeing is at the heart of our work, and your service charge only pays for the cost of providing services to you.

Our service has been independently accredited by TEC Services Association (TSA). This means that the service we provide you meets their standards for safety, care, ethics and quality.

Chesterfield Careline is available to anyone over the age of 18, but is especially useful for people who:

  • live alone
  • are at higher risk of falling
  • have mobility or other health issues
  • do not have family close by
  • have just returned home from hospital

If you think the service may be beneficial to someone under the age of 18, please get in touch to see what options may be available.

More than just an emergency calls and falls recovery service.

We're on hand for you when you need us most. Whether you need us to check in with you if your family or on holiday, or need help collecting emergency prescriptions, we're here to help.

If you have fallen, the response officer will decide what to do – they will initially conduct some basic health checks (such as your temperature, blood oxygen level, blood pressure) and assess you for any obvious injuries. If they can move you safely, they will lift you using specialist equipment and help you to get comfortable.

Following a full assessment we will also point you in the right direction of any additional support that you might need, and follow up and referrals on your behalf.
