Staveley 21 is a £6 million package of improvements to Staveley town centre that are funded through the Staveley Town Deal.
Project elements
Each element of the project is taken from the Staveley Vision Masterplan, it includes:
Some of these elements are still subject to receiving planning consent.
You can find out more about each of these elements on the boxes below. The information will be updated as designs are finalised and dates have been set for works to commence.
Funding
The full package of Masterplan works, which were subject to public consultation in November 2021, is estimated to require over £30 million of funding and is dependent upon the delivery of the Chesterfield Staveley Regeneration Route.
The first phase of works
The elements included in Staveley 21 have been selected for this initial phase of works as they received strong public support, support the five principles of the masterplan and provide the best possible combined transformational effect given the available funding, timescales, and other constraints.
Together the project aims to improve Staveley town centre and open it up for new uses that will encourage more people to visit whilst also supporting existing retailers, market traders and high street businesses.
Funding timeframe
All proposals are deliverable within the government’s Town Deal funding timeframe and can be funded exclusively through the Towns Fund Programme.
Improving quality of life for local people
The elements selected provide a spread of investment through the town centre so that the greatest number of people may benefit.
